hm, i suspect my love affair with vox is over...
i will drop by to visit you guys tho' :)
thank you for your kind attention *bow*
best regards~
(don't say I din learn anything from Mother-in-Law :P)
hmm i wish i can print my own money and use. so many things to do, so many things to EAT!
Yesterday was a failed tourist day - Maki gave me a couple of free tix to go see the Vermeer Exhibition, and Yurika and I decided to go on Tuesday. But the museum was closed!! 本当にびっくりした~ so we decided to head to Tokyo Mid-town to see the exhibition at the Suntory Museum instead. But alas, that was closed too. WTH!? Museums here are usually closed on Mondays. But I guess the Mori Group got smart and decided to close their museums on Tuesdays instead of Mondays so they can get the no-museum-to-go-to crowd on Mondays. There were other surprised Japanese too, so i guess i'm not such a failure after all. hehe.
Besides, after we got shut out of the museums, we went in search of food and happened upon some really yummy pistachio-hazelnut mousse which was part of a lunch set at Cafe Be. Oh ohohoh and we ran into Mokomichi (ya, like he's my friend) while entering Tokyo Midtown. Of course, he's not a Johnny's so naturally there were no lunatics running around trying to molest him - he just had his manager (or whoever) walk ahead of him. He was walking out the building and we were walking in. Closer than my Rain encounter hehe. He's soooo TALL!
Oh and in less exciting news, just when I thought that there would be no more information counter work:
RIC #3 - 6 December 2007, 1400hrs

Question: Akihabara? (pointing at map)
Informee: Caucasian Tourist (probably going to check out maid cafes)

my butt is so sick of studying.
Went to Izu more than a month ago even though I've been before - I just love Izu cos it's SEAFOOD and HOT SPRINGS~ yum. ommmm~ ok let's see...
the Food:
The Good:
And the Weird:
... your parents telling you that if you don't finish your rice, you (or your husband) will have lots of pimples??
well.. obviously, I never finished my rice.
So now i must help other people have rice - go play!!
http://www.freerice.com/index.php
i wonder how much is 8000 grains of rice.
irritated cos i can't break level 43... hrmph~ oyasumi~
p.s. is it really mid-november already?!
if it's possible for a PhD in Procrastination to procrastinate themselves out of things to do, well, today is the day I achieved it. :P
on top of that, i kinda forgot to eat dinner and then suddenly got hungry about 15 minutes ago. So I proceeded to microwave my Milo as usual, only to discover that this microwave works differently from the previous one at Nerima and we had a Mini-Milo Explosion. but all's well. my life is damn exciting as usual.
So anyway, I reckon it's a sign, cos it happened around the same time that I read this at astrolutely.com:
There is a change of rhythm and focus in the stars, and it appears to
be time to move on to other matters, time to plough your energies in
other directions. It also seems as though you are ready to clear out
some old debris, whether this translates as emptying a cupboard,
getting rid of ideas that are simply not working or removing yourself
from the company of someone who is bringing out your most negative
feelings. Once you have binned the old you'll be ready to start anew.
Friday's new moon sends out this message loud and long, so if you
suddenly feel the desire to begin a new project or you are ready to
reinvent yourself, you're on to a good thing.
The truth is while i'm enjoying the life here, I'm completely bored with the daily japanese classes and 5 months of a goal-less life has finally worn itself out. This is probably why i will totally fail at being a tai-tai and spare me the counter argument that taitais have their projects too.
It's time to find some new goals, and I'm seriously feeling this 'clean slate' thing kicking in... i don't think anyone will believe i've considered changing lines to stockbroking or real estate in the last 24 hours. It's true! Ask the Pup!!
However, please offer any wonderful suggestions for other career options if you think you've perceived any hidden talents e.g. Pup once said I can be a pole dancer if I ran out of money in Japan. I will consider all suggestions. XD Even though I still believe eventually one day some day i'll get to be a producer. or writer. or tea lady. It's just not now.
i'm going through some insane procrastination. isn't music great?
The weather is gorgeous these days. 20 degrees with sunshine. My perfect weather. I hope the sun hangs around. I do love my sunshine. It was so great I just had to get out, so headed to Futakotamagawa as recommended by Maki. Unfortunately, I monged around at home a bit too long, so managed to catch only about an hour of sunshine. still good nonetheless. :D i was so amazed by the number of people having picnics and BBQ-ing under the train tracks... so envious~ made me miss everyone... i wish you all were here so we can go picnic and BBQ too... but i can imagine #1 complaining about it being under the tracks haha :P there were also quite a number of people hanging around the 'park' area. It got quite entertaining sitting there, cos one guy was impressing (trying to?) his date by skipping stones. Another fella came along, also with his date, and the way *he* was skipping stones... it felt so competitive, the vibe just took me back to the Stone Ages... what's the big deal!!??
ok... this is probably almost my fave JAMC song, i can't decide, but omg i've never seen the tragic vid before hahaha.... i realised recently over a conversation with Darryl that i'm always out of touch with the latest music cos i'm always tracking backwards. No wonder I'm so suaku. so far i realised that for the kind of music i like, all roads lead to the Velvet Underground, and then of course the Beatles, the Mighty Lords of Jingly Jangly. with a touch of Bowie and Queen. Oh wait, maybe this ties to my past life as a Scottish farmer... hmmm. interesting. Speaking of Scottish farmers, i haven't had any interesting dreams lately. WHY~ dear universe please send something interesting.
wheeee~ this post is so random i probably sound as drunk as the Pup is. where are my drunken smses, bitch? ah, he's probably not drunk enough yet. I'm gonna watch more Youtube vids now instead of studying for my JLPT 1 exam which is exactly FOUR weeks away. ladeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda. and maybe eat some of the delicious bak kwa momo sent me. can you predict how heavy i will be when i come home??? :P
then today, lagi best... this came from Momo... all i could do was jump around and go uwaaaaaa!! uwaaaaaaa!! as i liberated them from the box... The timing very good also - i've started on the pi pa gao. hehe. Thank you very muchie~
Even though I've been to like how many markets, for the first time in my life I'm getting the freedom to attend screenings pretty much as and when, the past 4 days have been like going to the SIFF, but free.. hehe. And I've been such a good girl, I haven't even pontenged any classes to go. Yet. (Ok, I started this post on Monday and now Wednesday I'm ponteng-ing LOL)
So far...
Great i.e. should watch: Taipei Story (kept falling asleep cos the cinema was so stuffy, but you get to see a young Hou-dao in this, plus the whole 80s thing was pretty damn cool haha)
Good i.e. can watch: For Eternal Hearts, Crossing Over, The Early Years of Eric Nieztsche, Eagle vs Shark, Reign Over Me
OK i.e. won't die if you don't watch: Aria (missed the last 30 min cos I ran to another screening), Hafez, Interview (great OST tho')
Din get it/Don't bother: The Rebirth (this picked up an award at Locarno tho', so maybe i just don't know how to appreciate), Angel
Fell Asleep: Mad Detective (not that it was boring... i suppose?)
12 films in 4 days, my eyes are falling out i'm going to take a nap. 4 more days to go hehe.
Eagle vs Shark has been the most enjoyable so far. This is probably my fave kind of film to end a fest run with, funny and not too heavy. Actually, I was probably sold on it the moment the music came on. Besides, how could I not like a film that ends with She Bangs the Drums?
I guess I do still love films after all.
[BUT HOR... thematically I so do not like the films i've seen, it's 90% about ill-fated lovers! i don't want it to be a sign... :\ ah well.]
Oh ya, i have a Roaming Info Counter report to file. wah it's exactly a month apart from the last one. maybe this is some astrological transit thingy.
Location: Roppongi Hills, in front of the giant spider sculpture/installation thingy
Question: Do you speak English? Where is Salida 1C? (me: that's not english!?)
Informee: Spanish tourist supposed to meet a Mayumi-san
ok. it's time for peanut butter toast. later~
I'm not so terrified of Mercury Retrograde (why) like i used to be, cos i know things will eventually happen, it's just that it will take longer and be more troublesome than usual... but it does love to come and bite me in the ass.
Last week, i wasn't at home to receive the box my mom sent me and ended up waiting at the post office for 45 minutes to figure out what happened. Turns out she sent it to my old address(!), so it took 2 more days for the package to come and I had to go pick it up myself.
then today, i was supposed to go watch 'Reign For Me'(?), but got the time wrong. When I got to the cinema though, it seemed that it hadn't started, so I thought I wrote the wrong time. Then it turns out I'm not on the list of people who reserved seats. ARGHS. so I had to wait till they were going to start before they would let me in, which is fine. Then when the movie finally started, I was like "Huh!? Korean film?!!!" Wrong cinema... YAY~
It was a good thing though, cos I actually wanted to watch this film, For Eternal Hearts in the first place but the tix disappeared so quickly! so it was a blessing in disguise after all... all my karang kabok... hehe. Quite enjoyable film, they had it down as horror, but i think more fantasy... i love the whole idea of the destined-to-be lovers thing of course heh~ you could pretty much guess the direction in which things were going, but i think the director did a pretty good job with the pacing etc, so you were never bored. there was one bit i was so like OH NOoooooooooo nononono no cop-out ending purlease~
There was no cop-out the way i expected, but actually i'm also not sure if the current ending is considered a cop-out. It kinda doesn't 100% gel for me, but i guess the excuse is that it's fantasy. ah well, it was good overall. as for the other film I went to, I, erm, I fell asleep. So no idea if it was any good. The cinema is too warm! It's conducive for sleeping! I know the temperature's dropped but for goodness sake, it's not *that* cold~ i do have to admit that I was born with a built-in radiator though.
